Accommodation (SIL/STA)

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is assistance or supervision with daily tasks to help you live as independently as possible with other people with disabilities or on your own.

You will receive support with everyday tasks like cleaning, meal preparation, cooking, personal care and other day-to-day tasks.

Short Term Accommodation (STA) – which used to be called “respite” – is support when you need to have a short stay away from your home at another home.

Disability Support

This is available for you or your carers and can include:

  • Accommodation

  • Food

  • Personal care

  • Any activities you and the provider agree to

STA can be used for up to a maximum of 28 days per year in your NDIS plan.
